Welcome to CareFirst

Affirming life through extraordinary compassionate support and care for the seriously ill and grieving.

PICTURE IT: July 18th, 2020: 9:30pm…Thousands of people, throughout the country, dressing up in glow in the dark outfits, running/walking/skipping/cartwheeling their own personal 5K (or less…we’re all winners here) while lighting up communities in solidarity and support for hospice patients who desperately need your help…like fireflies dancing in the summer night…

Brought together by Seven Mountains Media using an exclusive, top secret event access code for live streaming and universal entertainment, this is The Virtual 5K of the summer you won’t want to miss!

Sport your GLOW with your favorite people in an expression of hope on a summer night when we need it most!

All proceeds benefit the CareFirst hospice, palliative care, and grief service programs in Chemung, Schuyler, and Steuben counties of New York State.

CareFirst was founded in 1981 by a dedicated group of volunteers who believed in dignity in end of life care. As the only not for profit hospice in the Southern Tier, it has been an honor and privilege to served nearly 40,000 families in our community. Thanks to you, we will serve thousands more when they need it most.

As our world and local community confronts the COVID-19 pandemic, the health and safety of our patients, families, and staff is always our top priority. Our Leadership Team is meeting daily to remain on the forefront of this crisis, regularly receiving updates from federal, state, and local agencies, and is responding to all recommendations and directives as appropriate. Though response protocols are rapidly evolving, we assure you that CareFirst is committed to continuing our provision of extraordinary support and care to anyone receiving our services.

Communication is important to maintaining stability and a sense of calm during this pandemic. Therefore, we encourage you to read a letter to all of our hospice families from CareFirst’s Chief Executive Officer, Jeff Yockavitch.

Help stop the spread of coronavirus in our community!

This is an emerging, rapidly evolving situation and CDC will provide updated information as it becomes available. Go to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention website for the latest specifics on COVID-19.
