New Year Brings New Leadership to CareFirst 

 This spring, our dedicated leader, Mary Ann Starbuck, will retire after 22 years at the helm.  Former Board Chair Jann Cady, RN, will begin her tenure as CEO at CareFirst in January, with a full transition of duties expected to take place in mid spring.

Jann will join our new Director of Patient Care, Annette Gibson, RN, and our compassionate team of clinical and administrative staff as we continue our mission to serve the Southern Tier.

CareFirst Introduces Innovation Department!

 Championed by Robin Stawasz, CareFirst Innovations will strengthen our organization by introducing new service lines, building partnerships, creating tools to identify and support potential patients earlier in the disease process, and working to support hospice in New York State, establishing our role in DSRIP, managed care, and health care reform.

We are seeking a caring, compassionate, and experienced part-time RN to join our team. If you are seeking a career where you can make a difference every day and have a true desire to help others, becoming a member of the CareFirst team may be the perfect opportunity for you.

The RN is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients as needed. The RN utilizes assessment, intervention, and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and to enhance the quality of life. This position functions as a case manager to coordinate patient care for a case load of patients which includes; assessment of patient/family needs, development of care plans, communicate/explain teaching in a manner to advocate and empower, provides direct nursing services all in an efficient and cost effective manner, and communicates efficiently with all members of the Interdisciplinary Team to ensure proper patient follow up. Timely documentation of visits is a critical element to this position.

CareFirst provides ongoing education, mileage reimbursement, competitive wage, and paid time off.
